Members of the West Liberty FFA Chapter are hard at work preparing for the upcoming Iowa State FFA Convention in Ames, where they will represent their school and community in a wide range of career development events. With more than ten events qualified for state competition, the chapter is showcasing both its depth and dedication across agricultural education areas.
Students have been practicing extensively in events such as livestock judging, agricultural sales, public speaking, floriculture, and agricultural mechanics. Practices often take place before and after school, with members refining their technical knowledge, teamwork, and communication skills. Advisors and community supporters have also played a key role, offering guidance, mock interviews, and real-world insight to help students perform at their best.
For many members, qualifying for the state convention is the result of months of preparation and success at the district level. It also represents an opportunity to compete against the top FFA members from across Iowa while building confidence and leadership abilities.
Beyond competition, students are looking forward to networking with peers, attending leadership workshops, and celebrating agricultural education. The experience in Ames is about more than results—it’s about growth, connection, and representing West Liberty with pride.
As the convention approaches, excitement continues to build. West Liberty FFA members are ready to give their best effort and demonstrate the strength of their program on a statewide stage.
